Despite great efforts in China, due to the rapid economic development in recent decades, there are still enormous water quality and quantity problems. These problems cause enormous economic losses, great damage to the environment and affect human health. There is a great need for innovative technologies and further research and development in the coming decades. The high demand in China for innovative technology and its high availability in Germany represent a great opportunity for the German economy.
